# How to connect to MCP

> Connect Claude or another AI assistant to your Meerie decisions.

Once an AI assistant is connected, it can list your decisions, read a model, run a simulation and write a memo. It works on the same records you see in the browser.

You do not install anything. You add one address to your assistant, then sign in and allow it.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Choose **View only** unless you want the assistant to change your work. **View and edit** lets it create and change decisions, save notes and runs, and restore earlier versions.

## Start in Meerie

**1. Open Connect AI assistant**

Open the account menu, then choose **Connect AI assistant**.

![The account menu with Connect AI assistant highlighted](https://mintcdn.com/meerie/4m98nozhN6Vq_X0_/images/mcp/account-menu.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=4m98nozhN6Vq_X0_\&q=85\&s=1100fe562ae796603bb03e92864503c6)

**2. Pick your assistant**

The **Connect an AI assistant** page has a tab for **Claude**, **ChatGPT** and **Other tools**. Each tab shows the steps and the address to copy. Click **Copy** to copy the address.

![The Connect an AI assistant page, Claude tab](https://mintcdn.com/meerie/4m98nozhN6Vq_X0_/images/mcp/connect-page-claude.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=4m98nozhN6Vq_X0_\&q=85\&s=934c58c5117c6705f3c2f808ad84fbdc)

The address is:

```text theme={null}
https://di.meerietechnology.com/mcp
```

The **Your connections** list on this page shows what is connected. It says "Nothing is connected yet" until you finish.

Now follow the steps for your assistant.

> [tab] Other tools
>
> Open the **Other tools** tab on the **Connect an AI assistant** page in Meerie. It shows what to enter for other assistants. You will need the address `https://di.meerietechnology.com/mcp`.

## Disconnect

You can disconnect an assistant at any time. In Claude, open the connector and click **Disconnect**. The **Connect an AI assistant** page in Meerie also lists your connections.

## If it does not work

* The address must be exactly `https://di.meerietechnology.com/mcp`, with no spaces.
* Finish the browser steps. The connector only works after you click **Allow**.
* If a tool is blocked, check **Tool permissions** on the connector page in Claude.

## What to do next

Follow the [MCP guides](https://docs.meerietechnology.com/mcp/explore-decision.md): ask about a decision, build a model, run simulations, research an input and write a memo.

## Good to know

* The assistant works on the same decisions you see in the browser. A change it makes is the same record you see there.
* Any accepted change creates a **new version** of the model. Nothing is edited in place, and earlier runs are marked out of date so you know to run again.
* Treat results as you would from [Dave](https://docs.meerietechnology.com/tools/dave.md): the numbers come from the engine, not from the AI's own arithmetic. Ask for the run ID behind any figure.
